Term Break Prayer
We thank you Lord, for this term.
For the challenges, successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt.
Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.
Give us strength and courage to do what is right: to be witnesses of our faith.
Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others.
To be peacemakers in our family.
Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun.
Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.
We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents and a community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives. Amen
Mid Year Reports are being sent home tomorrow, Thursday 4th July, with students or via post. Report time can be a very anxious time for some children. As Michael Grose from Parenting Ideas suggests, “Before you rip open the sealed envelope containing the report do a little self-check to see if you are in the right frame of mind”.
Tomorrow, Thursday 4th July, the fundraising committee is holding a Saveloy and Milkshake Day as previously advertised. Milkshakes are $1.50 at recess and Saveloys are $3.00 for lunch. Orders are to be placed on the Qkr App. The App will be open until Thursday, 8:30am. Thank you all for your support with our ongoing fundraisers.
A reminder that swimming will be on Wednesday's each week for Term 3. Students are to wear their PE Uniform. The cost of $20 per student for swimming is payable now or until the commencement of swimming. Payment can be made via the Qkr app or at the office. Consent forms are to be returned before the end of term. Thank you to those families who have returned their forms and paid.
This Friday, 5th July, our Grade 5/6 class are going on PLaCE. Please ensure all students wear their PE uniform with a warm jacket, bring a packed lunch and full water bottle.
Indoor School Holiday Activities
If the weather is just too cold or rainy kids can still enjoy their school holidays inside. Here are just a couple interesting & challenging fun things to do.
BREAKFAST CLUB
Thank you to the parents who have assisted in the positive and successful coordination of the Breakfast Club for the first half of the year. Your time does not go unnoticed and it is appreciated greatly by all. A huge expression of gratitude also must go to the students who willingly give up their time of a morning to prepare toast and milo. An opportunity to build initiative and life skills in the school kitchen.
Thank you :)
Donna Porteus - Chaplain
Under 8's
Best players for Saturday 22nd June were Lucas Saward and Vin Howard. Well done to both boys on a great game. Best players for Saturday 29th June were Tayla Ollington and Naite Barker. Great work players!
Under 12's
Friday 21st June - Best player for SPC Blue was Samuel Heald. He put in 100%, watched the ball the whole game and moved continuously to get himself in a suitable position on the backline. Sam made some outstanding saves and took his time taking the 16 yard hits which lead to fantastic passes being made. SPC yellow this week was a whole team effort with a great game by all players. They distributed the ball well with lots of determination, sportsmanship and team play.
Friday 28th June - Best player for SPC Yellow was Isaac Bishop who took on a new position with a positive attitude and worked hard defensively all game. SPC Blue best player was Alexis Donovan who played an all round great game and put what she has been practising at training into action.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank both our Under 8 coaches, Kylie Monson and Kyle Ollington for coaching the children this season. We appreciate all the work you have done with the children. We hope you all enjoy your hockey party on Wednesday, 3rd July, to finish off a wonderful season.
Jo Cartledge - Hockey Coordinator
